4.5. Reaching Out to Veterans Service Organizations
Veterans service organizations (VSOs) provide a wide range of free services for veterans and their dependents. While a "chartered[1]" VSO can provide assistance with benefits and VA claims, other services may include advocacy, career counseling, mentorship, temporary financial assistance, family support networks, advice on medical issues and much, much more.
- For questions regarding your veterans benefits or benefits that your family members may be entitled to, check out the VetsFirst Resource Center or submit a request for assistance.
VetJobs provides an excellent list of service organizations.
[1] A VSO that is "chartered" means it is recognized or approved by the VA Secretary to advocate for you and represent you in VA claims.
