Welcome to the NSCIA Resource Center New Injury information . This section includes information and resources specifically for people who have sustained new or recent spinal cord injuries/dysfunction (SCI/D) and their loved ones. It is our belief that knowledge and understanding are essential tools that will empower those living with SCI/D to enjoy a healthy quality of life.
If you can't locate the information or resources you are seeking on-line, please email our Resource Center or contact us on our toll-free Helpline at 800-962-9629. The Helpline is staffed M-F from 8:30 am – 5:00 pm ET . Our professional staff provides the most current resources and information to the national and international SCI/D community, responding to the specific and unique needs of individuals, families and legal, health care and other service professionals.

We hope the section on Basic SCI Information will answer your questions about this life-changing, complex injury. The section on Rehabilitation provides guidelines for selecting a rehab facility as well as a listing of facilities and programs specific for SCI rehabilitation.
The Health Care section includes information about your health care rights and benefits, how to find a SCI doctor and important guidelines for negotiating your health insurance. Resources and various forms of assistance are specific to each community, region and state. To learn about resources that may help you, access the section on Local Assistance.
