Wausau Area Spinal Cord Injury Support Group425 Pine Ridge Blvd., Wausau, Wisconsin, 54401 Phone: (715) 847-2826 Contact: Sheila Henrichs Contact: Sarita Boe The Spinal Cord Injury Support Group meets the third Wednesday of each month from 6:30 to 8:00 p.m. at Aspirus Wausau Hospital. The group is open to spinal cord injury survivors, family members, care givers and friends.
Participation in the group provides an opportunity for support, socialization and education. Support group facilitators have resources available for individuals with questions or concerns about coping with spinal cord injury.

Cabins for people with disabilitiesThere are nine cabins for people with disabilities in Wisconsin State Parks. There are rustic cabins at Copper Falls and Blue Mound state parks and cabins with more amenities at Mirror Lake, Buckhorn, High Cliff , Kohler-Andrae, and Potowatami state parks, Kettle Moraine State Forest--Southern Unit, and Richard Bong State Recreation Area.

The Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources is committed to providing greater access and more programs for persons with disabilities. We want to make it easier for disabled individuals to hunt, fish and pursue other outdoor activities.

We do so by distributing refurbished computers to Southeastern Wisconsin Residents with disabilities and their families.

Computer Recycling ProgramPhone: (608) 240-5237 The mission of Bureau of Correctional Enterprise’s Computer Recycling Program serves two purposes:
1) to keep computers, electronic scrap and other related items that may contain hazardous materials out of local landfills and dump-sites
2) re-introduce and provide usable computers, computer equipment as well as related electronics to various individuals and organizations that are not-so-fortunate.

DAWN supports legislative change in the programs and systems affecting people with all disabilities. DAWN focuses on the most important issues affecting all people with disabilities. It includes people with disabilities, family members, friends, service providers, and others who are committed to enhancing the lives of people with disabilities.

The Family VillageContact via email The Family Village is a web site for children and adults with disabilities, their families, and their friends and allies. Family Village brings together thousands of online resources in a organized, easy-to-use directory. The centerpiece of Family Village is the library, where visitors can find information on over 300 diagnosis. Visitors can also learn about assistive technology, legal rights and legislation, special education, leisure activities and much more.

Wheelchair Recycling ProgramPhone: (414) 313-1303 The Wheelchair Recycling Program offers low cost, refurbished mobility and medical equipment to those who lack the resources to acquire new equipment.
All equipment is donated to WRP by individuals, businesses, and other nonprofit agencies. Every item is carefully cleaned and repaired by experienced workers at Badger State Industries. Every dollar collected for equipment is re-invested in the program and helps to sustain our services.
