As a Quadriplegic I have lived with either one of my parents for 25 years. For the last two years I have lived with my 89 year old Grandmother. In a house fully paid for which will be willed to me. I would like to independently continue to live in this house after she?s deceased. But I don’t think I can pay all the bills that are needed for the up keep. Like Taxes, Electricity & Heating etc. In Florida and a few other States they created a Quadriplegic property tax exemption law. Below is a copy of the property tax exemption law for quadriplegics in the State of Florida.
Exemption for Totally and Permanently Disabled Persons,
1.Real estate used and owned as a homestead by a quadriplegic, less any portion used for commercial purposes, is exempt from taxation. http://www.myflorida.com/dor/property/exemptions.html
If I am forced to move out of this house over property taxes. I will be forced to move into a state funded nursing home at tax payer expense. How could we could get the Laws changed in PA & every state in the United States. I hope this is something SCA might want to take up in every state.”
